LTN · from Leicester
Luton is the M1-south airport: one terminal, a lot of easyJet traffic, and a straight motorway run from Leicester with no M25. That makes it a different proposition from Heathrow or Stansted. The public-transport alternative is Midland Main Line to Luton Airport Parkway plus the DART shuttle — fine with a backpack, less fine with a family and hold luggage.

M1 south. We choose the live route from traffic, not a single favourite junction.
Luton is a single-terminal airport. Drop-off is at the designated drop-off zone (charges may apply). The DART light-rail shuttle connects Luton Airport Parkway station to the terminal; it is relevant if you are comparing modes, not if you have booked a taxi to the door.
The road from Leicester
Almost always the M1 south to Junction 10, then the airport approach. Slow-downs cluster at Junctions 10–11 and around the airport access itself, not on the Leicester stretch. Contraflow and overnight M1 works are worth watching on evening collections.
Meeting point
Meet-and-greet in arrivals, or pick-up from the official pick-up area once you have bags. Luton’s terminal is compact compared with Heathrow, but the walk from arrivals to the car is still not “outside the door” — agree the meeting plan when you book.
The right car
easyJet leisure trips with several large cases are the usual Luton booking: estate or MPV more often than a saloon. A solo traveller with cabin luggage can use a saloon. If you have sports equipment, say so before we assign the car.

LTN questions
Typically between about 1 hour 10 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes, depending on M1 traffic around Junctions 10–11. Treat that as a planning range, not a fixed duration.
Often yes, because Luton is a shorter M1 run with no M25. Heathrow is the right airport when that is where you fly; Luton is simply a different road and a different terminal.
Either a meet in the arrivals hall or the designated pick-up zone after you have luggage. Luton is one building, but the official pick-up is not the drop-off lane. We confirm the plan with your booking.
Other airports
Typically 2–2.5 hours. M1 then M25.
STNTypically 2–2.5 hours. A14 / M11.
EMATypically 30–45 minutes. M1 / A453.
